Creating a Continuum of Care: UC4C Offers Sports Physicals

You’re sitting at your child’s sport or camp meeting, and one of the first requirements sits right in front of you in bold: A physical must be completed before trying out or participating. You reach out to your child’s primary care pediatrician, but the first available physical appointment is two weeks away. We’ve been there. You quickly scramble, knowing that the form must be turned in less than seven days later. Now, Urgent Care for Children is here to help step in and keep your kiddo in the game.

UC4C recently launched the offering of sports and camp physicals across all 20 clinics. You asked and we listened. This service, which focuses on building on our values of providing quality care, convenient care, and continuity of care, is offered on an appointment basis only within Alabama and a walk-in or saved spot basis in Tennessee and Louisiana for a flat rate of $50. In preparation for your child’s physical, we ask that you have them wear loose-fitting and comfortable clothing to the visit and bring their glasses or lenses should they wear them. Our pediatric provider will complete the exam and necessary paperwork during the visit.

Q: What is the cost of a sports physical at Urgent Care for Children?
A: This service is a flat rate of $50 regardless of your child’s type of insurance.

Q: Can my child walk in and receive a physical at Urgent Care for Children?
A: If you’re visiting one of our clinics in Louisiana or Tennessee, we gladly take walk-ins for this service. If you’re looking to have a physical done at one of our Alabama clinics, simply save your child’s spot online here or give your preferred clinic a call before stopping by.

Q: What should I bring to my child’s physical?
A: If your child wears glasses or lenses, we kindly ask that you bring those to the visit. Please have your child dress in loose-fitting, comfortable clothing as this is a full examination.
