Why did you choose to practice pediatrics?
I find the process of child development fascinating at every stage.

What is most rewarding about your work?
Helping parents and children to understand the process of their illness and teaching healthy lifestyle choices.

How does being a parent help in the way you provide care and work with your patients and their families?
I can relate to the fearful parent when their child is ill. I can understand the balance of life, school, childcare, and all of the stressors involved when caring for a child.

When working with your patients and their families, what is your approach?
I sit down and listen to parents. I strive to involve the parent/parents in understanding of the illness, treatment plan, and preventative measures in the most nonjudgmental way. I discuss a treatment plan that will work with the lifestyle/workstyle of the caregivers. I want my patients and families to fully understand what we as a team are doing to care for their child.

How do you stay healthy and happy?
I give God control every morning when I wake up… I follow the path set for me that day. I love my family, home, and my job!! I eat the MOST natural foods available and no refined sugar:)
